OUR VISION

“A capable, resilient, and thriving people, institutions, and nature in a time of climate change and other crises’’ is what we envisioned when establishing Mind-Nature Institute.

We are currently registered in Uganda and work with individuals, state and non-state actors, and organizations at various national, regional, and international levels.

Our work and strategic focus is informed by need, evidence, and/or questions that greatly inform the design and situation of our programs and projects.

CORE BUSINESS

1. Research, Knowledge, and Technological Development

We are facilitating participation in knowledge development and co-creation, building platforms, and disseminating various innovations. Transforming least-developed economies and people’s well-being requires growing and applying knowledge, data, and contextual evidence. The knowledge-based path is efficient and effective, allows innovation, and reduces waste.

2. Training, Skilling & other Capacity Development

Mind-Nature Institute is enhancing stakeholders with the appropriate ‘green’ skills, knowledge, and training to ensure ‘green’ jobs, businesses, entrepreneurship, and policies and practices.

Capacity development equally influences a mindset that values nature as a resource for transformation. But, importantly, minding nature as we seek to transform.

We want to impact multiple societal levels. As such, we facilitate learning and exposure visits and establish linkages to additional resources, including financial resources, government and non-governmental agencies, donors, and the private sector.

3. Networking and Partnership Building

Our level of influence, and experience, is still growing. During this period, therefore, we are deliberate in building lasting partnerships and belonging to the right networks, for, among other reasons, being the collective strengths needed to cause the necessary changes. Therefore we are forming partnerships within the local communities, non-profit sector, private companies, academic and research institutions, Think Tanks, and government agencies with relatable objectives. At the local level, we are bonding with the people closest to the issue, local institutions, and groups.

4. Monitoring-Evaluation-Reporting and Learning

We are focused on results and achieving measurable outcomes of our work. Along, with being efficient at reporting to stakeholders and learning from every course of action. We are also ready to facilitate other partners to establish robust MERL systems, turning into learning organizations and orienting to impact and outcomes.

In all core paths, we are solving problems related to:

  • Data and knowledge

  • Governance and rights

  • Inadequate resources, including skills and power

  • Coordination and care
